TuneTrace Privacy Policy
TuneTrace keeps the information you enter in local app storage. Limited analytics and diagnostics are used only if you choose to enable them.
Overview
Adstar Labs is the developer brand responsible for TuneTrace. This Privacy Policy explains how the TuneTrace mobile application handles information.
TuneTrace is a focused music & audio app. Its core purpose is to analyze short microphone PCM buffers in real time and show the detected note, frequency, target, and cents offset. It does not require an account, does not contain advertising, does not sell personal information, and does not track you across apps or websites.
Information you provide
Depending on how you use TuneTrace, you may enter or create:
- Selected tuning mode and A4 calibration value
- Practice session date/time, duration, mode, and stable-lock count
- Short microphone PCM buffers held only in memory during live analysis and discarded without creating recordings
- Selected app language
- Analytics and diagnostics consent choice
This content, together with your language and privacy choices, is stored in the app’s local storage on your device. Adstar Labs does not operate an account or cloud-sync service for TuneTrace and does not receive this content through the app.
Device access and user-directed exports
TuneTrace may request the following device access only when needed for a feature you choose:
- Microphone/record-audio access for live, on-device pitch detection
Permission-dependent processing is performed for the requested feature. Denying a permission may limit that feature but does not create an account or send your app content to Adstar Labs.
Analytics and diagnostics
Analytics and crash reporting are off by default. They are enabled only after you make a choice in the app’s Privacy screen. If enabled, Google Firebase may process the following limited information:
| Service | Information | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics for Firebase | App interactions, app version, device and operating-system information, session information, and Firebase-generated app-instance identifiers. | Understand general feature use and improve the app. |
| Firebase Crashlytics | Crash logs, stack traces, app state at the time of a crash, device and operating-system information, and Firebase-generated installation identifiers. | Diagnose crashes and improve reliability. |
TuneTrace telemetry is designed not to include the content you enter or create in the app. The app does not use advertising identifiers, does not set a custom Firebase user ID, and has no account identity to associate with analytics or crash data.
How we use information
If you enable analytics or diagnostics, we use the resulting information to measure whether core features work, understand general feature use, prioritize improvements, diagnose crashes, and protect app integrity. We do not use it for advertising, employment, insurance, credit, or other eligibility decisions.
Retention and deletion
Local app data
Local content remains in app storage until you delete entries, clear the app’s data through device settings, or uninstall TuneTrace. User-directed exports or system backups are controlled separately by you and the destination or backup provider.
Analytics and diagnostic data
Firebase retains analytics and diagnostic information according to the service configuration and Google’s retention practices. Crashlytics crash reports are generally retained for 90 days. Because TuneTrace has no account system, we generally cannot connect Firebase-generated identifiers to your name.
Children’s privacy
TuneTrace is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum age required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us so we can review the matter.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the limited information we process. Firebase data is transmitted using encrypted connections. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.
Your choices
- Analytics and diagnostics: use the Privacy screen inside TuneTrace to enable or disable collection at any time.
- Local data: use available delete controls, clear app data in device settings, or uninstall the app.
- Device permissions: manage permissions through your operating-system settings.
- System backup: manage app backup behavior through operating-system or backup-provider settings.
- Privacy rights: depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection regarding information we process.
International processing
Google Firebase may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, service providers use recognized safeguards for international data transfers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when TuneTrace changes or when legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date above identifies the latest revision.
